WAILING WALRUS

WHERE?

The largest walrus gathering is in Russia, where is it believed that there are over 100,000 walruses gathered! 

WHY?

This is happening because ice caps are shrinking and disappearing, destroying the habitats of these walruses. The cause of the shrinking of these ice caps as we all know is- Global Warming. So that we can enjoy our lives and travel in cars that pollute the atmosphere, creatures like the walrus and others pay the heavy price of suffering. Is this fair? It is not like the walruses enjoy or are fine with being cramped up on this island/beach. "They do this out of desperation, not choice".

This is a devastating image showing a walrus falling off a cliff. There is not even a cubic cm of space left free on the island, this makes the walruses climb the nearby cliffs for some space. Unfortunately these narrow and extremely sharp cliffs make the walruses fall/tumble/roll off the cliff.

This image shows the walruses crushing each other. Again, this is not for fun or while playing, it is out of desperation. On land to move from place to place, the walruses have to climb or stamp on top of each other. This results in walrus calves getting crushed under the weight of the bigger ones, or the walrus's teeth piercing each other while moving.

HOW CAN WE HELP?

some ways we can help are-
1. Stop using cars which are over 10 years as they cause more pollution 
2. Slowly try to move to environment friendly vehicles
3. Cycle or walk to closer destinations
4. Stop use of any polluting objects like chemical hair sprays, air fresheners etc. and replace them with natural ones.
